Can I have a wrap from M and S ?

Hi {!firstname_fix}

I’m in a habit of asking my clients what they have been doing with regards to food and water intake

Yesterday, I had a chat with one of my clients, to see what they had been doing throughout the week, and how they were getting on with the diet plan I had given them

One of the questions she asked me was, “Can I have chicken wraps from M+S, £7 for 3”

my answer to this was, No

and here’s the reason

Firstly, I tell all my clients, that if they are trying to increase protein intake, this will become a bit more costly to they’re weekly food budget, therefore, they need to shop smart, and aim to get 25-30 grams of protein for about £1

For example, If you go to a butchers, you can get a 5kg box of chicken fillets for about £25. This will work out about £1.20 per chicken fillet

If you are going the shops every other day, and buying chicken fillets and other meat, then this will be a bit more costly, than buying in bulk

So, going back to the question, I wouldn’t suggest that you buy 3  chicken wraps for £7, definitely not, and here’s some other reasons….

from 1 wrap you wont be getting a full chicken fillet. If there’s sauce on it, its likely to be high in fat, and plus, its expensive

so this wont really contribute towards your protein goals, or financial goals over the coming weeks

I hear all the time, people or clients, just grabbing some food on their lunch break, and paying a lot of money for a wrap, sandwich or another meal etc

I used to do it too. I used to eat in subway ever other day, thinking it was fine, but when the prices went up and it became £5  + for  a foot long sandwich, I really began questioning the price of it, and the value of the meal

and spending £5 on a sandwich, every other day certainly ads up

So my tip for you today is, if you are trying to increase protein intake ( especially where meat or fish is involved ) – shop smart, and aim to spend about £1 – £1.50 for 25-30 grams of protein ( a chicken fillet will have about 25 grams of protein in it )
