Kids Boxing Classes – Fundamentals program,  Liverpool

Think kids and boxing don’t mix? Then think again.

Boxing training is, in many ways, the perfect activity for children. Not only does it teach discipline and bodily control, but it’s a fabulous way to get fit too.

Boxing is a tough exercise. The need to continually shift your body and exert force means that kids quickly work up a sweat and burn off steam. At our boxing studio, we focus mainly on pad work to ensure that the training is safe. Children concentrate on hitting focus pads which absorb the impact of their punches, cutting the risk of injury to themselves and others.

Boxing training is a lot of fun too. Instead of doing something static, like running on a treadmill, boxing training gives children something to focus on. You have to have your wits about you to be a great boxer, always defending yourself and making sure that you’re not leaving any part of your face or head unguarded.

The main focus of boxing training at our studio is to give kids more confidence. Some children can get stuck in a rut and find it difficult to be more outgoing and adventurous. Boxing is a great way to bring out their personalities and let them shine.

Boxing Fundamentals Program

My Boxing fundamentals program is designed to give children important life skills to help them thrive in life from physical fitness and confidence, through to improved school work and respect for others 

These classes are popular amongst the kids, and parents in Liverpool, as we make them fun, with plenty of variety, and help the children grow into young responsible adults, in a natural way

The program was put together by myself, Paul Coshott – Liverpool Personal Trainer, as I felt the classes needed a structure, similar to my Kids Martial Arts classes, and it gave the students something to work towards, as they are graded every 3 – 4 months, and are presented with certificates and trophies, on completion of exam

I hear a lot in the media about failing schools and children failing at school. Our aim at the studio, is to give children and their schools in Liverpool, a helping hand to get back on track.

The Boxing fundamentals program works hand in hand with a child’s schoolwork, providing improved self discipline, self confidence, concentration, mental alertness, co operation, goal setting advice and anti bully skills

All young students in my children’s programs are required to take a specially designed form to their teachers at school once a month. This has to be signed off by the teacher before the student can be considered to be put forward for their next exam or martial arts grade. The form also needs to be signed by parents to show that they are being well behaved and are showing respect at home

We hold sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 4-5pm and 5-6pm, and Saturday mornings from 9-10am. We also have classes on for teenagers and advanced students on Tuesday and Thursday 7-9pm. All sessions are held at my ‘Strictly Boxing Fitness studio’, Mercer Street, Garston L19 2NR. Bring your kids along to join in with the fun.
