In this months ‘Link’ article, I ask the question, “Is alcohol stopping you from losing weight?”. The reason I ask this, is that so many people who I have come across these days, tend to have a weekly alcohol intake above the light. If you’re young and your going out once a week and drinking a lot, regarding you’re weight, you may get away with it. But I was you go into you’re mid 30’s and beyond, drinking alcohol excessively will start having a negative effect on you’re weight, as well as you’re body internally. Here are the 5 tips I have talked about in the article in my latest article.
5 Reasons why alcohol is stopping you from losing weight
1. Alcohol contains 7 calories per gram, twice the amount of carbohydrate and protein 

2. A glass of wine contains 110 calories, 91 of which come from the alcohol itself ( 13 grams @ 7 calories per gram ), with the remaining coming from carbohydrate

3. Alcohol can increase your appetite, leading you towards the wrong kind of foods 

4. Alcohol can lower your testosterone levels, decreasing your capacity to build muscle, which in turn will lower your metabolic rate

5. An increased alcohol intake can also affect your mental state, effecting your overall focus towards exercise and your goals
