While you should lift weights while on your period

Do you still train while on your period? I was asked a question related to this subject a few weeks ago, so I decided to look into it.
I found some interesting articles related to the subject, but I thought I would share this article with you, seeing as though so many are moving onto my Women Only Weight Training sessions now. I found this article on womenshealthmag.co.uk
Why you should lift weights when on your period
Tempted to skip leg day during your period? We’ll, here’s a reason to muscle up the motivation to hit the squat rack.

Researchers at Umea University found that strength training during week one and two of your cycle is the optimum time to increase muscular strength, power and muscle mass.

In a study, 59 women committed to a leg resistance training plan. For four months half the group trained five times a week for two weeks, then once a week for the remaining two weeks of their cycle. The other half of the group did the reverse; training light when bleeding and heavy when not.

The results highlighted that women who trained at high frequency (5 times a week) in the first two weeks of their cycle (when on their period and the week after) saw bigger gains than the group who sweated through the same workouts in the second half of their menstrual cycle.

Additionally, those who exercised ‘when on’ felt happier about taking time to invest in their health.
